Who We Are and What We Do

We're two guys and a girl (see leg on home page) who began composing and playing music together 30 years ago. We're still at it, with one big exception. We created Grace Recording as our production facility where we write, arrange, record and duplicate almost every format of musical and commercial production. You need 100 CD or Cassette copies fast. No problem. You need a voice-over :60. No problem. You'd like an estimate on A/V track, original music, effects, and a full symphonic sound. No problem. We chose a quiet little Hamden street on which to rig our mics. You'll find a state-of-the-art digital ProTools multi-track workstation. You'll find veteran composers with graduate degrees in music from Indiana University mixing at the 24 track console. Best of all, you'll find an intimate suite of rooms in which you can produce and create your tracks with no pressure except the intensity you bring to the session. Graceland. Worth a cook's tour. Give us a call.

 Fred Rossomando, President

New Haven born and Indiana educated, Fred Rossomando follows in a long line of successful local musicians. He received his Masters Degree in Music for Instrumental Conducting from Indiana University. Fred studied conducting with Howard Barlow, the venerable Firestone and Bell symphonic maestro. Several of Fred's works have been published through Dick James Music, New York and London. His compositions include piano solos, choral works and instrumentals in a wide range of styles. He has scored works for radio and television commercials, including Sesame Street programming. Fred recorded the music for a grammy-winning album for the Broadway hit Ma Rainey's Black Bottom. Fred is also an instrumental music teacher in the Wallingford Public Schools, where he has touched the lives of countless students for the past 30 years.

Lee Walkup, Vice-President

The down-home Texan-in-residence at Grace, Lee Walkup mixes a talent at strings, vocals and woodwinds as a virtual walking instrument. With a Masters Degree in Music from Indiana University, Lee has studied with Herbert Blayman of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, William Klinger of the Miami Philharmonic, and has played under composer Aaron Copland. In the equally serious world of commercial production, Lee is a two-time winner of the American Song Festival, has appeared on the first New York Songwriter's Showcase, and has scored for films, radio and television commercials. A Grace Recording, he tickles the Macintosh keyboard and tickles the clients with an extraordinary mix of musicology, composition and down-home humor. Lee is also a music teacher in the Shelton Public Schools, where he has taught thousands of students since 1972.

Josephine Rossomando, Vocalist

A born and bred singer since the 4th grade, and featured vocalist in many musicals, Jo Rossomando rounds out the triad at Grace Recording in perfect feminine harmony. She has starred in award winning productions of West Side Story, Cabaret, and Oliver. She was elected into Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities, and has been nominated for her own Who's Who in American motherhood, having raised three musical children without missing a beat. Jo Rossomando is the female catalyst, the sweet string section, that holds the composition of this remarkable trio together.

Bill Burns, Studio Manager

If you call during the day, chances are that Bill will answer the phone. He does most of the scheduling and handles the flow of most projects from the information stage to the shipping of the completed product. He is an invaluable member of the Grace Recording team. We met Bill through his affiliation with the film industry, where he is president of his own company, America Film Studios, Inc. in Hamden, and a co-partner with Crawford/Burns Productions in Los Angeles. As a veteran film producer since the early 1960's, Bill has most recently produced the feature film, Night of the Twisters aired on the Family Channel.
